The children’s Exploring LIFE Program of Shores United Methodist Church is offering a new fall camp “Agents in Action.” An exciting Mid-week adventure in discovering what it means to live courageously every day as God’s Disciple! Children are introduced to 13 daily missions for God as his special agents.
Each Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Christian Education Building, your child is invited to a time of Bible Stories, Games Galore, Crafts, Creative Art, Missions and more! Children will enjoy an evening meal of pizza, fruit, dessert and drinks. SurfQuest empowers people with disabilities by providing adaptive surfing instruction and therapeutic educational programs on water recreation and enriches lives by assisting families to access the beach and ocean together in a barrier-free environment. They act as an advocate for accessibility to the water that will allow people with limited mobility to reach the beach (i.e. wheelchairs, assisted devices, strollers, etc.). This monthly beach day is free and open to all ages and disabilities. They provide adaptive equipment with education and training for the advancement of adaptive surfing.

Meet Jax Cool and Salsa, the Jacksonville Zoo’s mascot on Saturday, June 15th from 12 pm – 4 pm! For $15 you get to ice skate, meet the mascots, receive a penguin rubber ducky to use during the games and Lotsa Give-A-Ways. A portion of the proceeds benefit the Jacksonville Penguin Project. Skate and play for a great cause at Jacksonville Ice!
Children aged 5 – 14 are invited to tour and learn about the different types of prints on view in our Museum’s collection and in the Edgar Degas: The Private Impressionist exhibition. Lightner museum educators will provide a richer understanding of the types of printmaking while encouraging young visitors to truly look and appreciate why artists choose to work in their selected print media. Our tour will be followed by an enjoyable printmaking activity. Little Lightners (ages 5 – 9 accompanied by an adult) will meet from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. and Lightner Leaders (ages 10 – 14) will meet from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 for children with an additional $5 fee for parents living outside of St. Johns County. Blast off with the first VBS to land on Mars! Kids become Voyagers on a journey through space, exploring where God’s power can take them. They’ll lift off to distant planets on special missions to collect power sources. Along the way, they’ll learn how God walked with heroes of the Bible, and that God is always with them. During the adventure they will enjoy out-of-this-world fun games, crafts, science, music and timeless Bible stories that inspire kids to give glory to God, who is able to do far beyond all that we could ask or imagine! We are now open for pre-registration!
To Mars and Beyond Vacation Bible School is for children starting Pre-K 4 to 5th grade and rising 6th graders. Students entering the 7th grade can register as helpers.
