Spend Spring Break exploring art!

Instructor Debra Weller, artist and educator, will lead elementary and middle school students on artistic adventures inspired by famous artists and movements. Projects incorporate a variety of mediums and techniques to encourage art appreciation and critical thinking, as well as allow students to experiment with their own creativity.
• Art Camp for children and youth–appropriate for elementary and middle school ages
• New Themes each day at the St. Augustine Art Association

SPRING 2020 ART CAMP THEMES & DATES
• SURPRISING SELFIES (Monday, March 16 | 9am-12pm) Your good side…Perfect lighting… The right filter… The greats like Picasso, Frida and Rembrandt will show you how to take your selfie game to the next level! (Digital Art, Drawing, Sculpture, Mixed Media)

• BLOSSOMING BOTANICALS (Tuesday, March 17 | 9am-12pm) Explore the wonderland of tropical botanicals that surrounds us everyday. Study the notes of Botanical Pioneers like Martin Johnson Heade and Georgia O’Keefe to create your own lush gardens. (Painting, Drawing, Sculpture, Printmaking)

• POP GOES THE ART (Wednesday, March 18 | 9am-12pm) Push the limits of conventional art and design. Warhol, Lichtenstein, Britto and Harding didn’t think inside the box and neither will you! (Painting, Drawing, Sculpture, Digital Art)

Kid*Prov Auditions

Auditions for The Adventure Project’s first-ever improv troupe for kids …

The Adventure Project and Limelight Theatre will hold open auditions for grades 7+ for an as yet unnamed kids improv troupe. The troupe will perform shows in and around St. Johns County. Wear clothes easy to move in.

Upon casting, performers will register with a $210 spring semester registration fee, which includes t-shirt.

Rehearsals will run:
Wednesdays, 4 – 6 p.m.
January 29 – April 15
(No rehearsal March 4)

Star Gazing Event

Looking for a free event this weekend that’s family friendly? Come out to TrailMark (right off Pacetti Rd) to do some star gazing! We’re partnering with the St. Augustine Astronomy Club to get en even more in depth look at the stars. Bring your own telescope if you have one, if not no worries! The Astronomy Club is setting up theirs as well. We will also be setting up a Hot Cocoa Bar in the Welcome Center. Parking on site. Hope to see you there! Please RSVP! ***WEATHER PERMITTING***

Island Prep’s Holiday Bazaar

Island Prep’s Holiday Bazaar is a free family friendly public event! There will be holiday shopping, silent auctions, food trucks, and pictures with Santa! This event will be held on Sunday , December 1 from 12pm – 3pm.

“Agents in Action” Fall Mid-Week Camp

The children’s Exploring LIFE Program of Shores United Methodist Church is offering a new fall camp “Agents in Action.” An exciting Mid-week adventure in discovering what it means to live courageously every day as God’s Disciple! Children are introduced to 13 daily missions for God as his special agents.
Each Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Christian Education Building, your child is invited to a time of Bible Stories, Games Galore, Crafts, Creative Art, Missions and more! Children will enjoy an evening meal of pizza, fruit, dessert and drinks. Plan now to have your child join “Agents in Action.” The program is for children in Pre-K4 to 6th grade and begins Wednesday, September 4. 20th Annual Reindeer Run – Benefiting Boys & Girls Clubs

Hosted By: The PLAYERS Championship Boys & Girls Club & Ancient City Road Runners

CALLING ALL RUNNERS!

A true one-mile run along the St. Augustine Christmas Parade route just before the parade begins is sure to provide large, cheering crowds as runners make their way to the finish line. Check the clock as you complete the race for your mile time!

All proceeds will go to support the youth of St. Augustine at the Boys & Girls Club.

FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY!

$10 per participant!
The first 120 registrants will receive a t-shirt, so register early! Day-of registration opens at 8:00 a.m. The race begins at 8:55 a.m.

START: Castillo Drive near Ripley’s Believe It or Not
END: On Cordova Street near Mojo’s BBQ
REGISTRATION: Lawn of St. Augustine Civic Center on parade route across from Ripley’s
AWARDS: Medal for Overall Male & Overall Female. Winners will be invited to ride in the parade following the Reindeer Run.
