NAMI Florida is hosting All Together Now, a FREE multi-part Virtual Speaker Series focusing on mental illness topics now through February 2021. Nationally regarded experts will discuss hot topics in mental health, embracing the state alliance’s mission of education, advocacy and support for people affected by mental illness.

November’s program will welcome distinguished nationally regarded experts as the focus on Hot Topics in Mental Health, with panel discussions on:

This professionally chip timed by Florida Race Day 5k race takes place in the scenic TrailMark Community Center at 805 Trailmark Drive, St. Augustine, FL 32092 The race starts at 9 am. Packet pick up is at Trailmark’s amenity center race morning between 8:00 am – 8:45 am

20th Annual Reindeer Run – Benefiting Boys & Girls Clubs

Hosted By: The PLAYERS Championship Boys & Girls Club & Ancient City Road Runners

CALLING ALL RUNNERS!

A true one-mile run along the St. Augustine Christmas Parade route just before the parade begins is sure to provide large, cheering crowds as runners make their way to the finish line. Check the clock as you complete the race for your mile time!

All proceeds will go to support the youth of St. Augustine at the Boys & Girls Club.

The first 120 registrants will receive a t-shirt, so register early! Day-of registration opens at 8:00 a.m. The race begins at 8:55 a.m.

Confessions of the Corazon: A Night of Storytelling

“Confessions of the Corazon” returns to the Corazon Cinema and Cafe with Kathy Kniery as our featured storyteller, on September 26th. According to her Tale Tellers of St. Augustine bio, it states:

Kathy is a recently transplanted Illinoisan. After 30 years of serving in public and private schools as a library/media specialist and sometimes social studies teacher, she gave up cold weather and snow for sunshine and ocean breezes. It was not a hard choice. Now retired she is focusing on the favorite part of her former career: storytelling. Kathy is also learning more about her favorite hobbies, photography and graphic arts.

The event is all ages and is $5 (cash only) for each person. There is room for 10 storytellers each time and it is first come, first served. Sign up by purchasing one item and there are free refills on most beverages. Sign up at 5:00 p.m. and the stories begin at 5:30 p.m. Each storyteller receives six to eight minutes of stage time. The featured storyteller gets 10 minutes of stage time and 50% of the proceeds from the door.

After each event, the current featured storyteller draws the name for the following month’s storyteller.

If you are an artist, bring in your works and sell them. Let’s hear your elevator pitch. “Confessions” is perfect for all artists, authors, comedians, writers, poets, influencers, content creators, entrepreneurs, filmmakers, actors, storytellers, etc.

6th Annual Cancer Smash

Join us and work out for a cause that helps those right here in St. Augustine fighting cancer. Bring the family, ages 7+ are welcome, to participate in a fun workout that will be scaled for all levels and ages! Come sweat for a good cause! We hope you can help us raise funds for the Flagler Health Care Foundation Cancer Patient Funds.

Cats & Yoga Mats

Join us for a beginner’s yoga class with instructor Jen Holloway. During class, there will be adoptable kitties roaming the room! No need to be a pet parent to participate, but if you do, feel free to bring your kitty to this special class (cat-friendly only cats please).

Donation: $20.00 per person (please bring cash the day of the event). All of the proceeds will go to Ayla’s Acres No-Kill Animal Rescue. Limit to 20 participants ***Please bring your own yoga mat and water bottle. ***

St. Johns County Town Hall Meeting

St. Johns County’s Poly Drug Task Force is holding a town hall on May 15th at 6 PM at The Armory on San Marco in St. Augustine concentrating on Fentanyl, the negative impact it has made in our county, and the prevention efforts we are making that community members can become involved in. It’s going to be an amazing, educational event!
