About J. Scott Nicol:
As “America’s premiere painter of books”, Nicol uses books as the vehicle through which he expresses his emotions. Creating his art is a painstaking process of research, intricate composition, and detailed painting. So far, Nicol has created over 50 paintings encompassing over 250 books.
His artwork is in galleries throughout the country and purchased by art collectors around the world. These paintings can touch people in a very deep and meaningful way and he finds it gratifying to receive compliments on the detail and realism. Nicol believes the true reward is in the process of making art. Taking a blank canvas and transforming it with oil paint and brush into books that not only tell the story of his life but of our collective popular culture.
