Our Time: Celebrating Women – Film & Cultural Arts Festival

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment securing Women’s Right to Vote (1920 – 2020).

This event is proudly sponsored by the Friends of the Corazon and is open

This event is open to everyone who is interested in great films, arts, and learning.

Join us as we honor outstanding local female heroes, experience extraordinary films, hear thought-provoking speakers and open our imaginations through arts, fashion and history.

Friday festivities begin at 6pm for All-Access passholders, who will enjoy our feature film, “Fly Like a Girl” and meet the film’s director and producer along with our extraordinary local female heroes during a reception with heavy hors d’oeuvres.

We begin Saturday with more great films and a fashion show sponsored by ‘The Way We Were’, featuring fashions and corresponding film clips from the last century. We will end with an Awards show for those films submitted independently. Many film producers and directors will be in attendance on Saturday to answer questions after their films. Saturday’s jam-packed schedule will also include performances and discussions with experts on women’s issues, history and changing roles through the years. Many of these presentations will be supplemented with interesting, rarely seen film clips.

Come and help us celebrate women while we inspire a new generation of leaders.

All-Access passes are on sale now at $40. This is the best ticket in town. All-Access Passholders will enjoy unlimited films, speaker forums, the fashion show, our exclusive Friday night feature film, Heroes’ reception and Saturday night’s awards show.

Individual movie tickets will go on sale in mid-March at a cost of $10. Student pricing is also available.

This event has limited seating. More information and tickets are available at www.OurTimeWomen.org.

Grand Opening of St Augustine Gallery to honor the Legacy of a Mum

“Unique. Unusual. Beautiful. It’s everything you are and we are at The Golden Gypsy” said Jason Relph. The Golden Gypsy features an eclectic collection of local & international gifts, boho clothing, stealing silver jewelry and esoteric art. “The focus is on sustainable, repurposed and recycled materials when seeking the unique pieces for the gallery. We are a family established venture and understand the importance, heartache and gifts that family ventures afford, so we like to showcase work produced by individuals and families who create from the heart,”

The Golden Gypsy’s Grand Opening is being held between 7:30pm – 9:30pm on the 27th of November, 2019 on what would have been Wendy’s 80th Birthday! The Relphs are a renowned mother and son team well-established in St. Augustine with Crucial Coffee and The Gourmet Hut in the original blacksmith and harness shops adjacent to Fort Castillo de San Marcos. The Golden Gypsy structure is a 100 year old home and a 3,500-square-foot, two-story commercial business location which has been transformed into an exotic, experiential shopping experience, with venetian plastered walls, repurposed wood from a Buddhist temple, and a real life-size teak canoe inspired by the floating markets of Thailand and spice markets of Istanbul.

Wendy died at home, with Jason at her side, the age of 79 years old on October 17th, 2019. To honor Wendy’s style and aesthetic anyone adorned in gold, black, leopard print or faux fur will receive a $50 gift bag at the grand opening along with refreshments, live musical entertainment and a free metaphysical service.
