“Who Are You? Reflections from Someone Who Wants to Know” Lecture

FreeOn Feb. 25 at 7 p.m. in the Flagler Room of Ponce de Leon Hall at Flagler College, the Woodrow Wilson visiting fellow Julie Lythcott-Haims will give a lecture titled, “Who Are You? Reflections from Someone Who Wants to Know.” The lecture is free and open to the public.
Lythcott-Haims’ background includes work as a corporate lawyer as well as administration in higher education – a dean at Stanford.
She has several books including a New York Times best-seller-turned-TED Talk on helicopter parents: “How to Raise an Adult” with a sequel coming soon for young adults titled, “How to BE an Adult.” She’s also produced an award-winning and critically-acclaimed book of poetry “Real American: A Memoir.” Her work has been featured in The Atlantic, Chicago Tribune, Parents magazine, “CBS This Morning,” “The Today Show” and “National Public Radio,” among others.
During her visit to Flagler, Lythcott-Haims will visit political science and first year seminar classes, attend various social activities with faculty and staff, as well as participate in several events for the Black Student Association.
Lythcott-Haims holds a J.D. from Harvard, a M.F.A. in writing from California College of the Arts and a bachelor’s from Stanford.
