The Fort Mose Historical Society: African American Community of Freedom, Inc cordially invites you to attend the 2019 annual meeting of the membership. Our guest speaker will be Dr J Michael Francis, author and historian. Attendees will also be treated to an evening of 18th century period reenactments telling the story of Fort Mose, the first legally sanctioned free Black settlement in what is now the United States but was at that time Spanish Florida, interpretive dancers and a delicious meal. The event will take place on October 17, 2019 at 6:00pm at the First Coast Technical College, 2980 Collins Avenue, St Augustine, FL 32095.
