The Downtown Guest House on Loring

The house is new for the area and has been recently updated with the finest appointments — travertine floors, new carpet, new beds, furniture, artwork granite, quartz countertops, and LED lighting. We have a private fenced-in backyard too with a BBQ for outdoor grilling.

The house boasts high ceilings throughout, inset tray ceilings in living and dining areas, an open kitchen, travertine floors, rounded walls & archways, & is tucked away on a private shaded street corner lot with a side entry garage. Parking for two cars off-street is included too.

The Location

The location is perfect. We’re downtown on a tree-lined, secret street just a few minutes walk from downtown, all the sights, and so close to the Bayfront and Francis Field. The guest house is the perfect spot for enjoying all that St. Augustine has to offer. We’re also close to the Village Inn where every Wednesday is Free Pie Wednesdays.

St. Augustine’s rich heritage makes the city and its surroundings a unique getaway for visitors. Founded in September 1565 by Don Pedro Menendez de Aviles of Spain, St. Augustine is the longest continually inhabited European-founded city in the United States – more commonly called the “Nation’s Oldest City.” Visit St. Augustine and dive into more than four centuries of history that owes much to the Spanish and English, to Greeks and Native Americans, and African Americans. Stroll the narrow lanes, enter the many museums, and visit landmarks such as Castillo de San Marcos, Ponce de Leon’s “Fountain of Youth,” and the Oldest Wooden Schoolhouse. St. Augustine – a place for history buffs and everyone else.

"Wendy and David’s beautiful home is in a lovely, quiet neighborhood and is the perfect base from which to explore St. Augustine with all the sites being within a 15-minute walk and the beach a quick car ride away. They thought of everything to make one’s stay comfortable. Their home was spotless with plenty of towels, linens, toiletries, and beach items, along with a binder that contained great sightseeing, restaurant, and shopping ideas. The bright, fun, whimsical decor of their home makes one feel that they are on vacation and away from reality. My family and I enjoyed the private, outdoor space with the firepit and barbeque. I can’t say enough about Wendy and David’s home and will certainly stay there again when visiting St. Augustine."

"Location is great - walking distance to historic section but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. Decor is just as shown - you find something new to look at every day. The home provides every amenity and has a lovely backyard with lovely lighting. The hosts were very responsive. Would recommend for sure!"

"Wendy and David's place is just as charming and clean as the photos show. Beds were comfy, and there were so many extra special touches not seen in other AirBNBs I've stayed at before (toiletries, pre-stamped postcards to send, wine, coffee ,etc). My family and I enjoyed our stay here immensely! The location is perfect for exploring St. Augustine as well. Would recommend to anyone traveling to St. Augustine for sure!"
