Art Historian Mallory O’Connor’s “Strangers in a Strange Land” will explore Florida’s art history and rich visual mythology. Beginning with Andre Thevet’s etching of the “Mythical Beast of the St. Johns River,” she will present images that span centuries of time. Her lecture attests to both the vivid imagination of the artists like Salvador Dali and equally flamboyant narratives centered on the Sunshine State.
